The company, Au2assistancen ApS, was founded in 2014 by Nicolaj Prest Larsen, who has gained experience and industry knowledge from a young age through family members working in the field. After completing his training as a blacksmith, Nicolaj had the ambition and drive to achieve more. He went on to train as a firefighter, gained mechanical experience, and established the foundation of the company with the ambition to become the best in roadside assistance.

The company's beginnings were focused on basic roadside assistance, such as tire repair, jump-starts, and transporting vehicles to the local mechanic. This quickly expanded to include recovery of trucks, agricultural, and forestry machinery. As the company developed, its ambition grew to assist all types of businesses, from small sole proprietorships to large international transport companies. Consequently, the company expanded its fleet to include heavy recovery vehicles for towing both light and heavy vehicles over greater distances.
